Samata Lok Sansthan Trust was registered in 1984 at Gwalior. Since then a number of programmes /activities were organized in rural sector of Gwalior and chambal division of state of M.P. for the welfare of rural people especially in the field of education and to eradicate illiteracy & backwardness in Districts of Bhind, Morena, Datia & Gwalior.
Dozens of primary, middle & higher secondary schools were opened in Dacoit-infested area with the initiative of local people and the Trust as Prime-mover. Trust Chairman was the sole initiator for surrender of hundreds of lawless Dacoits of Chambal Valley to the law enforcing machinery and was also involved deeply in the rehabilitation of surrendered Dacoits.
In 1997, Trust established ITM-Gwalior with the approval of AICTE with an intake of 120 students which rose to 534 intake in the year 2007-2008. Similarly, Trust established ITM (MCA) Gwalior in the year 2000 with an intake of 60 students. Institute of Information Technology & Management (IITM) in the year 2002 with an intake of 240 students in B.E. which rose to 330 in the year 2007-2008. Additional courses MBA & MCA were introduced in 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 respectively with an intake of 60 students in each course. These institutions are affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (University of Technology of M.P) and are duly approved by AICTE. The results are excellent and so is the placement scenario despite recessions all over. The Trust has established institute of Allied Sciences & Computer applications in the year 2000 & Institute of Nursing Science Studies & Research at Gwalior in the year 2002. Trust also established ITM College of Education in the year 2002, ITM – School of Law in the year 2003 and ITM – School of Management in the year 2008. These colleges are affiliated to Jiwaji University, Gwalior.
In year 2000 Trust organized Indi-pop music show of Daler Mehandi and donated the profits & proceeds of the show to the Datia hospital.
In the year 2002, trust proposed to donate a block of 100 beded hospital to Gajara Raja Medical College & Hospital, Gwalior in the compound of GRMD, Govt. of M.P. is in the process of approval of the proposal. Trust has also become a donor member of Gajara Raja Medical College & J.A. group of hospitals by donating a sum of Rs. Two lacs.
Trust is involved in visual & fine arts and is instrumental in several artist’s camp and exhibition of contemporary paintings & sculptures, with facilities at Delhi & Gwalior.
The Trust has been providing medical aid to the villages of the surrounding area like Arupura Ravar, Roda, Adashpura, Kui-Panchayat, Lucknow Khurd, Alingar, Tribal Area, Balrampur, Bastari, Turari, Ramauaa, Sirol etc. and the villagers were time to time medically checked up by a qualified Doctor assisted by a compounder, the diseases like malaria fever, vomiting diarrhea, skin disease, under feeding, anemia, Rheumatism, Asthma were diagnosed in them. They were treated in time and the medicines were provided free of cost. About 1000 patients were benefited.
